Question any thoughts on a dakota rear and leaf springs?

I just clipped the front of my 56 and do not have the original leaf springs out back to hang anything on. I was thinking of maybe a Dodge Dakota rear and springs because they have the same bolt pattern. I read a lot of the article on what rear ends will work but what about leaf springs, are there not any at a junk yard that would be close enough they could be made to work?

The leafs on a Dakota have a 10" offset center pin. They are 54" eye to eye. I run them on my rock crawler on all 4 corners. The 3/4 ton packs are pretty nice, but they are very flexible.
