what is it that makes American cheese American? Honestly, does anyone know? I like a lot of cheeses, and american cheese isn't one of them. And are bacon strips considered an American thing, like I would naturally assume that Canadian Bacon is a Canada thing?

Mike W--Caulifornia...that's great

I can't tell if it's the plastic or the jello they add to it that makes it American cheese.

The Canadian bacon you get on your pizza here isn't the real bacon like you get in Canada. Just like milk chocolate in Canada is just a little better quality.

wait a minute here...

1. Canadian bacon in america is different than canadian bacon in canada? What about regular strip bacon? I've been to Italy, and italian food is way different than americanized italian food...but that's 10,000 miles away.

2. Better quality chocolate in canada than america? My world is falling apart here...I'm only an hour or two from Hershey, PA, and the better milk chocolate is in canada?

why don't you just kill me now and tell me that all of the quality hot dogs, hot rods and hot women come from yugoslavia or something...but please, not the chocolate...leave the chocolate out of this.

Hmm..I know that when I dated a Canadian girl, she had no idea what Canadian Bacon was.

I had asked her something about if they simply called "Canadian Bacon" "bacon".

That's correct > back bacon (The special cut from the pig) is known as Canadian Bacon.

We may have back bacon & side (Strip) bacon, even canned Bacon.......but the US has Kevin Bacon & he brings home the bacon.

There is a way to cheap out for Back Bacon.

You just buy a small lean piece of ham & fry it.
Great with a piece of Heated Fresh Tomato

You put it in the pan with the bacon just as the bacon is almost done cooking.

Mmmm Mmm Bacon Grease & Tomato

Back to the cheese..... Whenever I am in Bellingham,Blaine,Oroville or Omak Washington ,I usually buy 2 large bricks of Old Cheddar.

The cheese in the US is cheap...but good.

Cheese Dreams:
On a slice of bread, put thinly sliced cheddar, thinly sliced tomato, and 2 strips of bacon.
Broil in the oven on a cookie sheet until cooked.
MMMMMMMMMMM!!!
