Does a 1959 Ford 4x4 come with power steering/brakes?
One time I saw a 1959 Ford F-100 4x4 for sale for only a $1000, it was ugly to look at but according to the sale sign they said that it runs really good, it had a 429 V8, big tires (not sure what size they were) and a 4 speed manual, did the '59 Ford 4x4's come with power steering/brakes?

I was wondering if you could give me some info on putting power steering in my 1960
f-100 4x2. I have done some research on the Toyota steering box but I found out that, from what I am told, the toyota steering gear works on '59 and earlier. But if you could shed some light on this or some other option I am all ears.
Thanks,

the 59 to 60 has same front fenters but the grille and hood changed, correct me if i'm wrong. i don't believe any of the frame changed at all. so the only thing i think they did is change stearing wheels. and the front hood and grille. so if the toyota gear box works on the 59 it doesn't dought me that in fact it would work on the 60 to. now if is was a option for the 250 it might have a bigger pitman arm or at least bigger rod for it to connect to. it would be nice to find some of this out. and on the power brakes if it was a option for the 250 or 100 4x4's. then it would get me thinking if it would fit on a 2wd. but i truely think it would. rodncustom.com has disk brake convertions for 2wd f100's. i'm thinking that would be nice.

Yes, 59-60 suspensions are indentical. Johns F-one hundereds out in cali. have some componets to do pwr steering, not sure if it's stock or aftermarket though.
www.cpp.com have a ram assist which will bolt on to the truck and is basically the same as the original pwr steering. They also offer a steering box rebuild kit which combined with new kingpin's and bushings, would make it much easier to steer. -4speed
