to sandbag or not
I cruised around with about 200 pounds of school supplies for the past week and really enjoyed it. Suspension was nice, and so was accoustics for my music.
I have a reg cab, with short bed, and i think the rear wheels are a little bit more jumpy without the weight.
Do very many of you use weights during summer? Do you think 200lbs will have much milage impact? Should I use less weight?
thanks

Danielo,
I've got a 2000 regular cab with an older snug top tonneau on it, and that thing is heavy. It's basically a 200lb fiberglass lid, and I love it!
1) It's heavy so it may sacrifice 1mpg
2) It cuts the drag coefficient down, saving about 1mpg
3) It turned my bed into a trunk
4) It just looks so clean!
Hope this helps, I feel that the weight over the rear axle really makes a difference in how my truck handles and rides. I still get some axle hop on big bumps, but other than that, it's great.
