location of horn?
I bought a used 1998 explorer sport about two months ago, and I think that the previous owner might have messed with the horn or put in another one, because it is this sissy "toot" sound that I haven't heard on other ford trucks. Anyway, I bought a new horn, the problem being that I have looked and looked, but have not found the horn. The only thing I have figured out is that it is on the drivers side of the truck, near the front. Other than that, I can't find it. I was wondering if anyone else could tell me where it is, or if you have replaced your horn, or anything.
any info. appreciated,

location of horn?
I had the same problem (96 XLT) and it took me over two hours to realize that I couldn't find the thing. It was clear I had a faulty connection because the horn would only work occasionally. At the end of my frustration I took it to the dealership and spent about $100. Turned out to be a connection in the steering wheel, something I wouldn't have been able to find out on my own. My only suggestion is to look at a manual, eg Haynes or something.

Horn is located between the fender apron on the drivers side near the front behind the radiator support. Access to the single nut attachment would be right in front of the battery behind the radiator support. Lay down on the ground between the drivers tire and the front bumper and peal back the corner of the plastic apron at the front inside edge.
