If I have auto trans would purchasing the dfuser EBPV exhaust brake kit with TC lockup for $129+$59 for pig tail, be the way to go.

I linked here from the tech sticky. I have a handshaker and was just wondering if the original post by kwikordead would still be considered a good route to go for an inexpensive exhaust brake. Just asking because no one has commented on it for a number of years.

My truck is a 550 4x4 and tows a dump trailer pretty well everyday.

It is a good mod, especially for a handshaker, but probably not necesary unless you're towing heavy and have some really good grades. I had it and it was nice, but the EBPV stuck closed on me a couple of times for some reason so I stopped using it. I have since removed the EBPV, so it's no longer an option for me. It's definitely worth trying out and a fun mod to do on the cheap. Just keep in mind you need to have RPMs up above 2300 or so for it to really be effective.

My truck has kwik's original mod with tc lockup switch added.
I knocked one of the leads loose behind the dash while removing or replacing it one of the umpty million times... and am unsure where it went.
Before i broke the lead... it worked wonderfully... except the tc would not unlock without totally shutting down the truck and restarting. Kinda maddening...

I would kinda like to gut it and start over with an updated tc lockup device.
Or would you guys just recommend a decel tune? (When i can finally get a hydra anyway)
