axle
Someone posted a message one time about the front axle being bent from the factory.I have a 1994 which has started making a thumping noise.I have check the air in the tires, all were up.The vechile has had a vibartion since new.The dealer has done lots of things but never did find the vibaration. The vechile has 82,000 miles and in good shape.Due to sickness I'm in no shape to trade for anther vechile.I hope someone out there has had a "thumping" before and can help out an old fireman.

Fireboat. I may have been the one that posted the bent axel. I have '93, two wheel drive. bought it used a few years back and got a real good deal. There was this vibration that was driving me crazy and guess the orginal seller. I tried everything that I could afford, but did not help. I then pulled a rear axel and put a straight edge on it. The axel was BENT. I then order in two NEW axels from the local dealer, both of this axels came in
BENT. The dealer sent them back after they tried to pass them off on me. Just ticked me off. The second set of axels came in a little rusted, supposed to be new, but at least were NOT BENT.
It took me about 2 hours to do the whole axel replacement. Biggest concern was not stripping the head on the hardend bolt that releases axels. I bought a special wrench, very small size if I remember correctly. Just have to be very careful with removing that bolt, I also ordered a new bolt to replace the orginal one, did not want to take any chances.
Hardest part was putting in the gear oil.
A very easy job for any mechanic to accomplish.
