A good stiff drink!

The service department at your dealership of choice should replace the item at no charge. It seems that this happens a lot.

I asked my service guy at my local dealership about this 3 months ago. He said that it is a common problem and that they strip them all the time. I asked him how much it would cost me if I did it, and he told me that it would be no cost.

I guess this could have been because I have all my service and etc done by them, but I just figured that Ford was taking care of its customers. $7 is cheap customer service.

EZ out tool. Looks like a reverse drill bit. Be careful not to strip the threads on the HCFM. You don't need to tighten them too much as they have a rubber O-ring for a seal.

Don't even bother just bring it to the dealer, they know about the problem and will swap it out with no charge to you.

Agree with KR here...
if you monkey with it will the dealer use your work as a reason to not cover it under warranty ????

but with the filters ?
that's not terribly out of line with stealership pricing
