ford cummings?
I was just wondering, sorry for sounding so stupid about this topic, but i heard from somebody that ford actually makes cummings, they just arent allowed to put them into the ford trucks because of monopoly so now they have a contract with dodge to build the cummings diesels. Is this true or is it some rumor? any one with facts on this?

At one time, Ford owned a small portion of Cummins but they no longer own any portion of Cummins. If you go to Cummins website you will see that they actually answer that question in their FAQ.
I hope you weren't basing that on my sarcastic posts in the "powerstroke most durable engine" thread. That was a joke.

A friend of mine runs a 466 and another runs the 530. Both are torque monsters. Capable of pulling way more than the trucks can handle. Extremely reliable. Ones in a roadrunner the other is in a 4700 chassis.

BTW, Ford owns Mitsubishi, so it would be possible to get the engine, But I don't think you could fit it in a pickup.

That would be like saying Mercury owns a portion of Mazda.

Chrysler and Mitsubishi, which is 37 percent controlled by DaimlerChrysler AG, are cooperating on developing cars as they reorganize and cut costs to regain profitability. Schaum estimates the companies could save between $1 billion and $1.2 billion with joint engineering of small and mid-sized cars.
