Time for the creative minds to get to work. We need to think about what we all would like for our logo. Here's what some others are coming up with: http://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=264161 All ideas are welcome. (although I think the tall corn thing is overdone)

We need somebody with a truck like Pro's 78 (?) highboy. Have that parked in at like a soft angle with the truck barely in a cornfield. Above the scene have the FTE icon, and then something denoting the Iowa chapter.
Since it'd be too expensive to actually have a picture put on shirts...should find a way to make that into a graphical image. Drawing rather. Just my idea...Have a big bad Ford truck, and have to have something to do with Iowa - corn or pigs...lol.
Well if cornfields are over done we can always go with the number 2 industry in the state . but I do like the idea of the truck busting out of th estate outline, or maybe a state oultine around a corn silo being pulled down by a Ford truck
I am not too sure about the old trucks though most of them are pretty rusted here

It took a while , but I got a bitmap outline of the state in b&w. Changing the colors should be real easy.
Anyone who wants to work on the Chapter logo , let me know & I'll e-mail it out. Should get Roger's input on how it looks before we go farther.
post it or link it. I'm just part of the group, don't need my approval to proceed, make it up and lets see how it looks. I'm open to all ideas, I'm a little weak on the computer skills that way myself. If you want to play with the corn ideas, that's cool too, just thought it was something that we would want to avoid, being the stereotypical Iowa thing but maybe it's not such a bad thing... Guess I spent enough hours with the stuff just to get lost in it... Got some good ideas coming out already, but try to keep it semi simple. Too much detail makes for more expense to produce. The idea is that once we have this, we can get some shirts and such done. I do have to approve the final stuff to present to Ken, but until then, let your talents go and do your best. I'm a great critic, but getting the idea to go with isn't always my strong point. In basic, I can help tweak it, but am better at improving on an existing idea.

what about a 4x4 pulling a huge catfish out of the river ? Reminds me of some of the stories told about the Coralville Reservior back in 93 when the divers were checking the dam, claimed they saw some big enough to use them for a meal...

No way am I going to buy , or even wear a t-shirt with a catfish on the front!
I'm from Iowa , not Mississippi.
How about , we have the Chapter Logo with a blank outline of Iowa and everyone can put what they want in the center?
('FTE IOWA CHAPTER' across the top , at an angle if so desired)
It needs to be standardized, so bulk printing rates can apply, and it has to be approved in the end by the administration of FTE. Depends how you want our state to be viewed, we are agricultural, being known for our corn and hogs, but we do have more than that as well, so how about a scene with a rural setting with a city back ground? kinda like the license plates, sorta...

I did a little toying around, maybe somebody can take it further and get it better than I can with my limited computer and graphics knowledge. Keep in mind, we need to be able to take this onto a bumper sticker or window cling as well, so we don't want it too complicated, and also, the same applies to t-shirts, complicated +expensive, unless we can get a good quantity discount. It's rumored that FTE may help us out in regards to the shirts.
Here's a look at the pic I have toyed around with. Been pirating some images from the net.
