1952 original paint color for valve cover?

Am in the process of restoring a 1952 (pulled out of a barn near Stone Mountain GA). This may sound petty, but I am trying to determine the original color of the valve cover... any one have a clue?

Ford didn't have valve covers on any motor that I know of for the year 1952.
Ford used Flathead V8 and I6 engines until '53 in the USA and '54 in Canada and other British Commonweath countries. ...Terry

Dude, for every day laypeople, that's petty. For car guys and true restorers, hot rodders or not, that's kool to be that detail-oriented!

Just to straighten things out, 1952 was the first year for ohv inline 6. The V8 was 2 years late.

Sorry about that. I'm into V8's.
I stand corrected regarding the flathead six cylinder engines. ...Terry

The only '52 add I've seen shows the block a light gold with the valve cover a darker gold almost a brown color. I'm going to go check out a few more sources, as that doesn't sound like ford engine colors. -4speed

Valve cover color

Have a 52 F3 w/ 215 ohv "cost clipper" 6. The engine is absolutely orig.-

the color is dark green, almost BRG.

hope this helps

BTW- if you're looking for the cover decal - I believe Osbourne reproductions still carrys it.
