Ok, I bought the retrofit kit for my 1993 Explorer, now when I open my hood I see 2 black tops that lead to the AC lines, One of them is on top of what looks to be the condenser on the left side of the motor. The other is on the far right side of the motor near the Radiator hoses but looks as if it is near the fan. Which one is the low pressure side? I have the cans to recharge the AC.

I need to find out which side is the low pressure side so I can drain the old coolent and add the new coolent.

 

I am sure someone familiar with your make and model will tell you exactly which one is which, but if this helps you any, I always look for the line that goes into the passender compartment to find the low pressure line.

 

It is illegal to allow r12 into the atmosphere. It needs to be properly reclaimed. Also, If you should know how to use the equipment to service the a/c system. You can injure yourself if not done properly. The high side can go as far as 300 to 400 psi which can injure someone. I suggest having someone who has a little experience help you.
