Unhappy XM Killed My Battery

I went on vacation for a week without my 2004 Screw and did not unplug my XM Roady. The week away drained my battery. I know there is a time out option on the Roady that can be set for different times. But, is there a way for the Roady to come on when the truck is started and off when I turn the key off?

Check with your service center for a circut that is wired into the ignition, and run a female 12V adaptor from that circuit. Then plug in your XM male plug into that. This will allow you to not alter the XM plug that reduces the voltage for the xm system. I wired my female plug under the dash and plugged my roady 2 into it so I dont have the same problem, and still have two stock outlets open.

I had the same thing happen with my radar detector when plugged into the 12volt power supply for 9 days. The power supply and lighter do not shut off when the truck does so they will kill your battery when left on long enough.

Did the same with mine, wired in an extra power plub to the switch side so radio goes off when the key is turned off. It also helps by allowing me to run wires hidden instead of having the plug hang from cigarette plug.
