XM Delphi vs Roady Shutdown on Ignition startup

I recently installed my XM Delphi in the overhead bin in my 2004 Screw. Whenever I crank the ignition over it draws enough power to shut off the Delphi. So everytime I startup I must repower the Delphi. PIA!! Even tried running back to the battery direct. Voltage drops to 10.5 on startup, enough to kill the Delphi. Has anyone found this to be a problem with either the Roady 1 or 2? If either one would stay on, I would switch to one of these units. Thanks

I have the SkiFi and tapped into the power on the 12V outlet beside the glove compartment. I, too, have this problem but it really doesnt bother me to have to turn it on. What bothers me more is that I didnt realize (or check for that matter) that the outlet is a constant 12 so if I forget to turn off the unit it stays on.

As far as unit staying on, I went to the setup and set the unit to turn off after 120 minutes. This is in the menu options.

Will a capacitor on the power feed to the XM help out? Large power amps use caps to prevent power surges when you thump 'em. Maybe the capacitor on the power feed could delay the voltage drop long enough to get the engine started and still keep the XM powered up.

I just had the Roady 2 installed in mine at BestBuy and they we're able to wire it so it will turn on & off with the ignition. I also found a bracket online that really gives it a clean finish. I think the name of the website it something like ProFit.com??? I have it on one of posts???
