1 3/8 is the size of the fuel filter cap under the truck, I believe I used the same socket on my last oil change, not sure though...........

Tim, Thanks for the welcome. I've read the "Read Before Posting Here" guidelines. Is this the guidelines you are referring too?

I've been a member of FTE since April 2004 and learned a lot from everyone here regarding the superduty and 6.0 PSD. A lot of knowledgable foks here! In fact I ordered one in April (Lariat/CC/4x4/6.0L) and took delivery in May. Love the truck!

Thanks for the responses - I knew 36mm was the size of the fuel filter....I was hoping Ford made the oil one the same - glad to see they did. Couldn't seem to find it anywhere in the manual tho.

See my instructions at http://home.austin.rr.com/sbv1/Proce...gEngineOil.htm It is a 36mm socket. Don't overtighten. 18 ft/lbs is specified.
