Poor idling? low power? no codes? read this

While searching mitchell repair I found this: Customer's vehicle had poor idling, low on power (1992 4.0) No codes showing. The repair shop test drove and confirmed customer's complaints. They installed breakout box and found voltage was too low on some pins to register problem code(100mv) Problem was poor grounding inside the ECA, and the EFI relay. Replaced both and problem was solved. Makes me wonder what I'm up against...

Any more details? When they said "no codes" did that mean no codes whatsoever or all pass (111) codes? Which pins were low on voltage?

No codes at all? I'll look for that example and post pin #'s. They diagnosed through mitchell online feature. I would cut and paste whole story, but cut and paste doesn't work on mitchell format?

Also it was bad EEC power relay and ECA, not efi relay. My f.u.

No trouble codes at all would be consistent with no power to the PCM which would be consistent with the need for a new relay.
