Do I fit in?

I have been a ford driver all my life. As a matter of fact, this morning I had seven total in my yard ranging from a 78 f150 to a 2000 expy. Question is, I traded one of them for a Mazada Tribute, the sister to the Escape, so do I fit into this forum or do I have to go find a Mazda site.

I actually went looking for an Escape, but got such a good deal on this one (came with all the buttons, leather, 190watt stereo, etc) that I couldn't turn it down. Its a 2001 4wd with 3.0. Do I belong and are there any thoughts on the mazda versus ford?

Well, the maker of your vehicle is variously called Fazda or Morda, or so why not? Welcome to the group. Tribbites have virtualy the same experiences with their Tribbies as Escapers have with their Escapes.

We bought the Tribute 1, for the 3yr 50K mile warranty, 2 because it didn't have the dull plastic cladding the Escape has. We've had a few minor issues but otherwise OK!

I'll admit I didn't like the dull gray cladding on the Escape when I bought it but since I commute from a rural area prior to the sun coming up, I'm constantly bombarded with bugs. My front bumper begins to turn yellow like my Escape. The only benefit of the dull non-painted cover - I can pressure wash it without removing any paint. The wife's 02 Honda has a painted bumper and it's already starting to peel just from the bugs, no pressure washer.

I have a 2001 Escape and my husband has the 2001 Tribute...when you're inside (aside from a few minor details) it looks exactly alike. Although I did find that the Tribute has a more rigid steering than the Escape, but all in all both are great to drive and are very dependable.

Thanks to all! However, the deal fell through. Carfax, came back as a texas vehicle, but I found insurance and even a registration for a guy in NY in the car. Also, descrepency of about 30K made me run the other way.

Good idea to run. Keep looking for an honest one.
