For my son's 16th birthday, I purchased him a 1997 Ford Explorer. I am putting in a stereo system that contains subwoofers and what not. I need to know the dimensions of the front and rear speakers of the truck. If anyone knows, I'd really appreciate if you post feedback. Thanks!

 

Hi. The front speakers are 6x8 and can have a max mounting depth of 2 9/16". They are mounted in the front doors. The rear speakers depend on if it is a 2 door or a 4 door. They are the same size, 6x8. The only difference is the mounting location and depth. The 2 door mounts the speakers in the rear seat side panel and can have a max mounting depth of 7". The 4 door mounts the speakers in the rear door and can have a max depth of 2 7/16". Hope this helps you. This info comes from a Crutchfield audio catalog.
