Tail/Brake lights not functioning.....
A friend of mine has a '98 Explorer with the V8 engine. Her tail nor her brake lights are functioning at all. Neither are her high-beams on her headlights. Front parking lights, log-beam headlights and rear turn-signal/hazard lights all function fine.
My question is whether there is a specific fuse or solenoid that controls theses lights? As far as she knows, everything quit at once.
Any suggestions would be welcome and to be honest I have not checked those things yet, she just mentioned the problem this morning and I would like to get it resolved as quickly as possible for obviouos reasons. Figured I would go ahead and put this out to you guys and gals.
Thank you for the assistance.

Tail/Brake lights not functioning.....
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 06-Feb-02 AT 10:29 PM (EST)]Look in her owners manual and find out which fuses are for what. I know there are fuses for each in the fuse box just inside the driver's door, plus there is a fuse box (distribution box) under the hood also. There are separate fuses and relays for the lights in both panels.
I would start there...

Thanks, I did check her owners manual after posting this message and I will double check it, but I didn't find anything in there labeling fuses for the rear brake/tail lights. (Going off of memory here) I say one for stop/trailer lights, but that was the closese thing. They had them clearly labeled for the fog and headlights, but not the rear lights.
Anyway, she just found out that they were all out yesterday morning and we started getting a fair amount of snow, so I was trying every avenue that I could to try and get it fixed before she left work. Probably have her go to a shop after I take one more look. Her hubby works here too, let him take some responsibility too
Thanks for tips though, if you have anymore, feel free to add.
