SuperChips worth the money???

I know everyone is excited about the relese of superchips tuner, but is it really worth the money? 4 fat benji's is alot of money. I know it wont turn my truck into a race machine, but I would like to have more power on tap and be able to twist the rears a little better?

Whenever some people get their super tuners, post how well you like them and state whether it is worth the money.

I am wondering the same question. However I did have the PCM reprogrammed and I do think it is more responsive when I step into it, so I will have to forgo the supertuner for now.

I am getting it solely for recalibrating to 4.56s and 35 inch tires...the extra snap and extended shift points is just a bonus!

My question is....

Since this is the first version of the new tuner, If we buy it now, are upgrades to the programming available to us without having to pay the $400 again or will there not be any?

I'm not trying to be difficult, but this "drive by wire" is so new even Ford came out with updated programming. With all the aftermarket companies racing to be the first to hit the public with the High Performance gear, there has to be something left to eek out.

Superchips is a fine Company and I'm not attacking them. $400 bucks isn't a whole lot of money to get the benefits they offer, but I'd be bummed to learn that six months from now there's a new one out giving up 10 more hp's and I can't get the upgrade....

I dont have direct experience with the tuner BUT for $400 - IF it does as advertised - it seems it is the most bang fro your buck that you can get. Virtually the same money as many invest in cat back systems.

Heres a question I have on mind, can you use the programmer for multiple vehicles. I know it's just like software and there's probably a licensing agreement but hypothetically if you owned multiple 04's with the same config, could you use the programmer on all of them?

I dont believe you can...when it flashes your computer it takes your stock program and puts it in its memory...so if you hooked it up to another vechicle...you would just be giving it a stock program from teh previous vehicle...at least thats the way the one we bought for work...works.

dont waste your money it wont give you 456 gears it will only compensate your revs per mile thus correcting your speedo

What does that mean? It tells the truck I am in OD at 2k RPM so I should be going X amount of MPH and thats what reads on the speedometer? I thought the speedomeoter read off a spinning shaft and was legit and the tuner tells it that the shaft speed has increased Z amount from the gears but the speed is the same as it used to be spinning at a slower speed.

I just want my mileage to read right with my 4.56 gears and my 35 inch tires...

from my experience the super chips have been well worth the money and i will be getting one just as soon as i have a little cash saved up. i've seen more of them on the diesels than gas, but the gas ones that i've had experience with have been a positive one. superchips do their homework and release a very good product. tuners will work on any vehicle in the posted year and engine application, but only one vehicle at a time.

I think he meant he was INSTALLING 4.56 gears and wants the speedo recalibrated (for the tires as well). If this tuner will magically change your gear ratio, I am in!!

www.Motorhaven.com has a money back guarantee on it. If you try it and don't like it you can return it. I think very few people will.
