1935 1/2 ton model designation?

Can anyone tell me what the correct model designation is for a 1935 1/2 ton pickup? The title for the truck I bought is messed up. Ohio actually used the intake casting number for the serial number. I want to make sure all of the info is correct before I title it in Indiana. Thanks

I believe it should be a model 48. Cars and half-ton pickups shared the same frames up thru 41.

The serial number should be something higher than 18-1234357, but I don't have the upper limit for '35. It should be stamped a couple of places on the frame - inside the engine compartment and under the cab on the top frame rail. If the tranny is original it will be stamped on the bellhousing flange also.

You might check on fordbarn.com for more specific info.

Ohio used to be casual about registration compared to Indiana. Are you still required to have the state police physically check the vin stamping on the vehicle? OH probably took the owner's word for what the vin should be........

Thanks.
Yes, the state police still have to inspect them. Luckly my brother is a Sgt. on the force. He is doing the inspection, but because of the problem it will require another officer to do a second inspection for verification. I finally found the serial number yesterday. It had me worried because it was not where it was suppose to be. Instead of being by the front cross member or steering box, it was located all the way back by the firewall. Hopefully now I can get away from an assembled titled.

The 1935 passenger cars are model 48, the 112" wheelbase pickups [ your model] are designated model 50, the big trucks [131.5" & 157" wheelbase] models are model 51. This information is taken out of a genuine Ford 'Fast Moving Parts' catalogue. Brian
