Has anyone used an air ride suspension system?

On Trucks they used a kelderman air ride suspension system as a lift on a big dodge truck. I was wondering if anyone has used one on a Bronco. Kelderman doesn't make a kit for the Bronco, but they said it could be done as a custom job. It would be pretty slick to keep it at normal driving height for the highway and raise it up for off road.

Welcome to FTE Kim. I do not know of anyone here who has run an air ride system on a bronco, but I cant say that I have talked to every bronco owner here either. Do they make a kit for an F150? I would have to imagine there would have to be little deviation from the F kit to the bronco kit.

no, only f250 and up. I am hoping that one of the local fab shops will take on the challenge. In the winter time here, Chugiak, AK, it is safer on the highway to keep my stock height. But, I like to go off roading all summer. Our highways are windy and very icy for about 7-8 months of the year. Air ride just sounds like the perfect solution.

it sounds kewl and probably would work well. i would just be concerned about damage to the airbag while offroading. sticks, mud anything really could possibly damage a bag then your SOL. it would be kinda kewl though.

I was kinda hoping someone else had tried it just to see if it would work well. I take my truck off road a lot, but I still have to rely on it to get around on the street too. I am hoping to get a second Bronco next summer just for off roading.

I have an advantage. I have been into off roading all my life. My HUSBAND is a gear head. He likes to race his '04 Ford Focus SVT(Ford racing orange). We justify our wreckless spending on our vehicles, new and cool tools, trips to car and truck shows, etc... to eachother. It works. I do love to beat a Chevy or a Dodge at traffic lights across intersections! There is no true explanation for the unusual speed of my truck. Maybe just taking it apart and puting it back together occassionally just keeps everything at the right tension levels? Who knows.
