Unhappy Help, my '86 ranger, V-6 2.9 surges

My '86 ranger has super power loss surges after it warms up. Seems to suck up the gas when it does. I've done plugs, wires, vacuum hose, pcv, havent done distributor, rotor or fuel filter. It feels like it is running out of gas like my little 88 2.3 did. The only thing is that when it surges it kind of jumps hard once in a while. Any one with any ideas?? Help please, I need this little truck for work.

I would start with the EEC-IV self-tests, especially since an '86 didn't come with a function Check Engine Light. Easy enough to do with a paper clip/jumper wire and an analog voltmeter/test light. See www.dalidesign.com/hbook/eectest.html or the "retrieving codes" page at www.fordfuelinjection.com
