Header and tranny questions

Hello, Everybody.

I have a 1971 Ford F100 with a 360. I have already done the Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold and 4 barrel carburetor upgrades. This truck was purchased brand new by my Grandfather. Nothing major has been done to it besides minor repairs.

My problem is that my C6 transmission recently started leaking fairly bad. I am about to order the following parts from Jeg’s:

Transmission rebuild kit:

http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/ProductDisplay?prrfnbr=3490&prmenbr=361

Headers:

http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/ProductDisplay?prrfnbr=1281&prmenbr=361

Is this a good tranny rebuild kit? Also, will this set of headers fit? I have the cross member under the engine that may pose a problem. I thought I had read somewhere that most headers won’t fit because of the cross member.

Any comments or suggestions would be much appreciated.

The cross member they are talking about goes between radis arms, all you need to do is knoch it and put it back in. If you don't put it in the frame will flix at highway speed it will have slopy steering. I went though that with my 74. I put a trans pak in my c-6, works great.

Thumbs up

the headers will work but will most likely need two notch about a 1/2" x 1 1/2" out of the cross member because of the collector that is what i had to my 70' F-100 with a 360 but only on the pass. side the drivers side fit perfect
