Radio Swap

My daughter replaced the radio in her 2002 Sport-trac with an after-market unit. Her OEM radio had both CD and cassette player. Can I put this radio in my 96 Explorer (my OEM unit only has a cassette player)? The connectors on the back of the radios are different. Where can I get information on wiring or an adapter to swap these radios if it is possible?

Any local stereo shop should have the adapter plugs made by Metro that will fit both ends of the radio and harness. Best Buy, HiFi Buys, or something to that effect that install upgrades will also have them.

They run about $15 a set, or that is what I paid for my last set anyway. Try one of those places for the plugs.

The radio should be the same size, so all you need are those plugs.

Good Luck !!
