Rear Doors stuck in child lock mode

Rear Doors stuck in child lock mode
Both my rear doors will not open from the inside (while unlocked). They open from the outside only. Power locks work fine otherwise on all doors.
I've tried opening the doors from the inside with the child lock in the up and down positions and still won't open.
Am I missing something here? My kids are out of that stage now and it's embarrassing when I have grown adults ride in the back.
Thanks in advance. . .

Rear Doors stuck in child lock mode
Sounds like the same problem I had when I bought my 1994 Explorer 6 months ago. When neither rear passanger door would open from the inside, I ended up taking the inside panels off the doors. Both handles had a small plastic clip about 1/4" long broken off. The entire mechanisim that opens the door latch is plastic, and if you pull too hard when opening the door, or pull on the door latch to pull the door closed the tab will snap right off. The local ford dealer said it wasn't major and wasn't unusual. The new handles were about $11.00 a piece, and took about 30 minutes to install both. If you fix yourself, just watch the power door and power window wiring, but other than that really simple. Hope this helps.
