Check out the FE forum, plenty of info there, other than that, all you need is crank/rods/pistons from a 390 and you conversion will be complete...

ive heard that the stroke of a 390 rod (longer ) and the stroke of a 360(shorter) the pistons would hit the bottom of the heads

make sure if you use all 390 parts turn the moter over by hand to see if the pistons will not come out of the block

Actaully, the rods on the 390 are shorter than that of the 360. You would want to use the 390 rods just for the fact they have more beef on them and will hold up better under heavy use.

from what i'm told...and take this as it is, hear-say...the 390 will get better mileage and give you better performance than a 360 will...just something to think about...i don't know the truth behind it, but that's what i've been told...

I am in the process of doing just that, rebuilding a 360 and going to a 390 with it. You can use the old 360 pistons IF they are slipper skirt units, not full skirt. Actualy the compression height is better on the 360 pistons, at least in my case. Unfortunately I could not use the pistons over due to wear so I went out and got some Speed Pro hypereutectic units. P/N H305P.

Hopefully will have the rods resized by this weekend so I can start the build.
