Post Just bought a 2000 Merc Mountaineer

I just got a 2000 Mercury Mountaineer for the wife. It has 20K miles on it, with the 5.0L engine. It's a 4x2 with all the options except a sunroof. Very nice and quick. I couldn't find a forum for them, so I hope everyone is OK with me posting stuff about it here since it's so close to the Explorers.

Is there anything that I should watch for or typical problems that might pop up with this model? I like to be aware of them, and the TSB list wasn't very helpful. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

R

Welcome aboard, and yes, the Mercury is fine to discuss here.

Welcome! Congrats on your purchase.

The Mountaineer is basically an Explorer with a different look.

Join the club! I have a 99 MM... I have done many mods to the engine and the suspenion. She looks sweet, really. Not too many lifted Mountaineers out there. I just joined this site, so when I get some pics and stuff up, I'll get back with you!
