I think most of the problem associatied with using Mustang headers in a truck is that the collector is located too far forward to fit properly in the trucks engine bay.
they will hit the engine mounts. if you look at a set of truck headers they drop back then down where the mustang headers start to drop down in about the middle of the header.
those are shorties and they hit the fire wall. actualy they put the exhaust into the bottom edge of the fire wall. your best bet is to sell them or trade them for a set of truck headers. i wish you had posted this about a week ago i had a set laying in the shop. sorry
I put stock Mustang headers in my 87 F150 way back, they fit ok, but the stock y-pipe w/cats had to be modified to fit up to the headers. The collector on the driver side stock manifold is under the third cylinder on that side, while the collector on the Mustang header is further back, as the picture shows. There was no interference at all with firewall, shifter linkage, motor mounts, etc.
i put a set of these on my 1978 f-100 with a mild 302 and i had no problem with them going in there.. nothing hit at all i just went with true duel's......sounded great with flowmaster's and 2.5 inche pip.....
did either of you guys have a body lift? i'm just curious cause we had problems with this swap. now that i think about it the truck we tried to do the swap in was a 91 or 92 so i think i'm wrong. sorry guys.
I am putting a EFI 5.0 and Aod in my 66 2wd f100 and bought set of mustang headers at a swap meet for 20 bucks, they fit fine. Do not interfere with the mounts or fire wall.

Mine was a stock 87 F150 2wd. The cab etc. should be the same as the 91-92. One possible difference, I used 87-93 Mustang headers, I don't know how different the 94-95 headers are, other than the O2 sensor.
I have a set of mustang shorties on my 351. They fit fine. There was a slight bit of interference at the drivers side firewall, but it was fine after a little clearancing.
