Banks Ottomind code
I am looking to buy a banks Ottomind tuner for my 01 auto powerstroke 7.3 and I am not sure if it will work on my year, beacuse all they give me is the calibration code. it is VDH4 if anyone could cross that number to a year or a computer code, or just give me some info about anything would be appreciated .

Nope, the computer also has a number like DPC-462 on it, which is the number on a VDH computer. Computer codes come in families. So the VDH chip would work on anything in the DPC-462 family, so long as its a 4 bank chip, which I dont think Banks has, their chips are code specific. But for example, 2001 automatic is probably a PMT2 or PMT3 code, which is a DPC-422, the FIF and NVK series are also DPC-422, so you could interchange a 4 bank chip, with any of those codes previously stated. You can also run NVK or PMT based chips in a 2002, but you will have no tach, and several lights on the dash lit up all the time.
Your main question: No a 2002 chip will not work in a 2001. Hopefully I didnt get too carried away, just trying to inform you.
