Hi All... I need your help in getting information on a 2004 EXPY EB I'm planning on buying this Friday. The dealer gave me a VIN # 1FMFU18L54LA77143. I have not seen the truck but gave him the specs I'm looking for. Can you please decipher this VIN number for me? Also, I heard that a truck manufactured later in 2004, as opposed to one manufactured in 2003 (for 2004 models) are better made due to various adjustments. Is this true? Where would this VIN # be on that date range? Thanks to all who can help.

 

Vehicle was built 12/22/03. Any other info I can pull up (model, trim level, engine) you already have. Since the vehicle has yet to be sold, there's no service history I can get. The VIN really can't tell us much, not anywhere near what's on the window sticker, which along with the invoice, your dealer has access to and can print out.

I'd be more concerned about the vehicle's AGE than build variances. I'd prefer not to buy something that's been sitting around on a dealer's lot that long.
