Holley Pro-Jection??

Anyone using Holley's Pro-Jection system? Maybe there is a cheaper way to get fuel injection. I have the stock 302 for now. "Not running" Still not sure if I'm rebuilding that or doing a 351-W. Maybe just stick with a carb??? Any opinions out there... Thanks

Seems there was one or two on classicbroncos.com that have it and it was being discussed a couple of weeks ago. You might try a search there. If I remember there was an older model that some guys said to stay away from, or something along those lines.

dk -

I put a Pro-Jection unit on my wife's '78 Regal about 10 years ago after I swapped the 305 for a 350. The install was easy EXCEPT for the gas tank - I had to drop it and open up a vapor return hole for the fuel return because it was too small. Something to think about.............

I've thought about doing that to my Bronco for a few years now. I don't know if the price has come down any, but back when I first researched it, it was like $1000 for everything needed to put it on. Didn't seem worth it to me. I would still like to have fuel injection, and not any stock Ford injection, cause it's much too complicated. Wonder if anyone else makes an aftermarket fuel injection that isn't so pricey?

Summit has it for $800. I think Jegs was about the same. The advertise it as a stand alone kit. It has to be better than a carb.. Besides that, the Holley truck advenger carb is a 670cfm. I called Holley about the carb and the said it would drown the 302.

I have had 2 units on my trucks. Both have failed at some time (about 2 years of daily driver use). Both had computer box failure. 1 had an injector stick wide open while out on the road. Had to go back to carbs on both trucks. Stay away.

To many to mention.

Thanks guys, I will stick with a carb. Quite a few guys at another site are running the Holley T/A carb on 302's & 351'S in the EB's and most of them seem pleased. Later

The factory stuff is not nearly as complicated as it would seem. Find a late model engine with wiring, and ECU and swap it over to yours, this is much easier than trying to find all the little parts, brackets, and pulleys. I have seen complete engines with everything needed on EBay for less than $500. An added bonus is that everything will bolt right up, and the ECU is tuned for the Ford motor. I have installed the Holley Commander 950, and have had nothing but problems with it and tuning it has been extremely time consuming. I am almost ready to pull it off, and put the factory fuel injection on my engine.

Thumbs up Holley Projection

I have been using the holley projection on my 1967 bronco with a hopped up 289 for 2 years now with no defects. I could turn this engine upside down and it would still run. There is not to many carbs out there you can get at to steep of an angle and not flood. I like the system of course I am one of very few. Just my two cents worth.

go Megasquirt!!

I have a holley efi on my `68 bronco 289, but used a megasquirt ECU. Totally worth it!! You could also use a boneyard chevy TBI for ~$40 with the megasquirt ECU. The ECU is a do it yourself project, and can be as little as ~$200. I picked up the 2 bll holley TB for ~$150. So I have about $500 dollars into it, and it is way better than the holley setup (tried a 700 cfm 4di holley, and it never worked right) check it out at bgosoflex .com!!
