air conditioning clicking

Has anyone noticed a clicking noise from the A/C compressor when the a/c is on. It seems mine make a loud click about 20 seconds when the a/c is on. Please let me know if this is normal.

This is probably the compressor kicking on and off, the does not run constantly. This should be normal but you might want to bring it to the dealer to be certain.

Funny you should post this. I noticed mine was clicking constantly, but not very loud. I only noticed it yesterday as I had my radio off.

I will take mine in as they are replacing my entire drive shaft because of the slip/clunk I get from accelerating from a dead stop.

I've already had the dealer listen to mine. It's normal, just louder than previous trucks I've had.

Do you have the electronic controls? If so, I noticed that when the ac is on, and I push one of the buttons below, putting on the floor and the panel, there is alot more noise. If you just have the a/c on with noting else there is no noise.

I've had the same issue. I've got the auto climate control, and the very first time I used the A/C I noticed an unreasonable "click" as the compressor goes on and off. I timed mine about a month ago - temp was in the low 90's and humidity was in the upper 60%'s - it was clicking on and off every 7-9 seconds. It's something I plan on telling the service dept when I take it in. I've got 1200 miles and am getting about 11-12 MPG in town (screw 5.4, 3.73ls, 4wd).

It is normal & is the ac units compressor / nothing to be worried or anything you need to take your truck in for. There are several changes they made to this ac unit & w/ my truck it does not have the cooling fan so the unit will be clicking & working that much harder. Its something I'm sure they will try & fix in the near future.
