Lariat SCab & 20" Wheels - ride quality

Curious - has anyone put 20" wheels and tires on their Lariat SCab 4x2 and maintained a similar ride quality. I'm not looking for greatly superior performance or greatly superior dirt traction but DO want to end up with a similarly smooth ride to what I have now.

Assume that the wheels weigh the same or slightly less than current and that the wheel/tire package would be about 1" wider than stock. Do you have any tire brand or size recommendations?

thanks

Check out the pics of my 4X2 Lariat...after I put the DayStar lift on the front I went to my local Discount Tire shop and purchased some American Racing Motto 20 X 9 rims with Nitto Terra Grapler 305/55/20...rides as smooth as the day I bought it...enjoy...Chip

Cowchip13- Very nice looking truck! I love the wheels and tires. What is the exact model of the wheels. I know they are American Racing Motto, but what is the exact model. I can not find the wheels on the A.R. website. Thank you in advance for an answer!
Again, Nice truck!!

i like my ride. but i went with 295 45 20's. the 305's are too tall for my drop. there is a slight difference in ride quality but nothing really that noticeable. they are a V rated tire giving them stiffer sidewalls but that comes with 20's unless you get goodyears that come in a H. 285 50 20 or 275 45 20 goodyears. if you dont want a speedo change stick with the 30" sizes. 295 40 or 45 the 305 50 is a 32" tire. Pics of my truck www.lonuf.com my site has had an issue so there isnt much to see.

Just read a good article about this in Motor trend (June 2004?). Here is the online article: http://motortrend.com/features/consu...eel/index.html
