After several months of deciding and test driving the new '04s, I finally decided to go with a FX4 with cow guts, captains chairs, 3.73, audiophile, power sliding rear window, mirror upgrade, trailer package, remote start with alarm, and of course running boards, splash guards, bug shield and side window deflectors. I spent an entire Saturday afternoon at the dealer, driving, talking, deciding.... That was on May 29. Me credit app was approved on May 31. The vehicle was ordered on June 01. I was called on June 03 and told it was serialized. That is the last I've herd about it. I call my dealer once a week to see if there is a build date yet, but nothing as of tonight (July 20). I'm in the last few weeks of a 2 year lease, and I'm supposed to take posession on Aug 21. I'm starting to get a little concerned, well that's even kind of stong, let's just say, I'm starting to wonder if it's gonna be here in time. I live near Calgary, Alberta, Canda, so it's got a helluva long way to go to get here. On top of that, the dealer says they need a couple of days to put in the remote starter and alarm, undercoat it and do the fabric and paint protection. How long did you guys have to wait from the day you ordered yor truck to get a build date? How close to the build date were they (was it done when they said it would be)?

 

I ordered my truck on June 17th. I got a Vin number the same day. Im in the same boat as you. Thursday will be 5 weeks since I ordered. Still no build date.

Also in case you didnt know both sites that build f150's have been closed and on vacation for the past 2 weeks. They are back to work this week.

I ordered my truck on may3, and didnt get a vin till 3 weeks later. It was built on june 15 and i took delivery on july 7. Hope this helps

 

I did not know that, thanks for the info. Also, I thought that there were 3 assembly plants doing the new F-150's.

Ordered my truck on May 17th, and it is scheduled to be built this week, so I hope I can get it by the end of the week next week, so we shall see.

 

I made the deal on mine exactly 11 weeks ago. According to the story, it'll be in this week. I'm not holding my breath. So much for the 6-8 weeks. I've kinda lost all excitment over it.
