Howdy, thanks for the info. They are the same as I have used then and my former opinion stands -hehe! I wouldn't use them.

You can buy industrial quality epoxy at industrial supply stores like Grainger.

When I wet set my anchor pots I welded two 16" pieces of 3/4 rebar in a x configuration on the bottom of the pots to have a little more holding power. I know the Harbor Freight Pots are not highest quality but the price is right.

Cheap but works

I did what you want, and, although it is not as esoteric as many of the excellent suggestions, here is what worked for me. I took a 1 foot lenght of 1/4" thick 2 1/2" angle. Flat bolted it to the floor with two 1/2 wedge-type anchor bolts (the kind that come pre-assembled, and expand as tightened) with washers. The vertical part I bolted a 1/2" welded eye bolt double nutted with washers. Its not going to support the weight of the garage should I decide to lift it off the ground, but it sure does let me winch loads off my trailer! Works great, But I really like the expoxy suggestion. I would drop it in the hole and let it gush out as I tapped the anchor in (I would think it would pass around the un-expanded anchor). Put masking tape around the area to keep the emess down, I guess.

I was cleaning out the shop and found a dried up epoxy applicator.

It was for the Red Head adhesive anchoring system and the type of epoxy is Epcon C6.

I had a rock anchor job last week and while at the store noticed they had the good epoxy in a new single tube applicator, so you can use any standard caulk gun, (the duel tube guns can cost $100). It's still two part, they just have a patented tube now. They said my cost was about $17 a tube, but it's worth it.

Made by Tamms http://www.tamms.com, it's called Dural Fast Set Epoxy.

While this isn't the stuff I used last week, I needed 12 bags of a rod anchor grout - it's similar. I had to load test tension at 295,000# for 5 minutes. Nothing pulled out.

gtex is gaining momentum as a positive member of FTE.
I just did this a whil back. I went tp a local bolt store, and purchased a single 3/4" concrete anchor bolt with the expansion sleev on teh bottom. I bought some concrete bits, and drilled a hole about 5-6" in the concrete floor. The place the nut and washer up to and tighten. they also had the big eye hook nut ta attach to the bolt.

I've used it with a com-a-long and an electric winch to pull my 67 and 69 F250 trucks up the ramp in my shop. The ramp is an 18" rise over 12 feet. No issues. About $30 and an hour invested!
