48 flathead six

I cruise those roads out that way several times a year looking for tin, ya gotta be careful tho, some of the locals can get a bit upset.
A few years back before I retired I was crusin the area searchin the fields and woodlines with my Bi-Nocs, the few folks that saw me were downright hostile, couldn't figure out what was wrong until I stopped at the "Stop&Rob" in Albion, Folks inside were all stareing at me as if I was one of those aliens. Thats when I noticed that I had forgot to remove the "Kojak" from the roof after a late night run.

48-53 flathead SIX 254 cu in, M series engine (not H or G series)
I want to purchase a complete flat head motor, 254, "8MTH" series, 48-53, F6 or bus engine. The 7H engine is a 226-wrong one! The M series ID should be on the head and the driver's side of the block down low by the motor mount. Some of these engines were used on industrial water pumps for irrigation, but mostly in F6 trucks, COE, an option to the V8. It had a 2-pc oil pan (deep sump), with the bottom pan turned 90 degrees to the engine block and stuck out about 6 inches on each side of the engine. Any lead appreciated. Any one on here have experience with building a street-strip engine with one of these?
THANKS, John
THANKS, John

SL, I have a 226 H out of a 1950 F4. Engine would need rebuilt Has not run in many years. Truck only had 50K miles on it but the body was rusted bad as was the frame, cattle truck, and you know what cow crap does to a frame. Manifold is long gone. Hard to come by.
