hate to put the harley against its "little sister" the lighting but....which one is the ultimate performance truck???

Sorry, I think Lightning is a little bit lighter than the harley and more lower to the ground....plus it's got more horsepower of 380+....Lightning still stands of its name..

 

but with a few simple mods...the harley can be 400hp+ and still hold 4 passengers...hold more in its bed as well as in the cabin...

 

common..don't go there..what i meant was stock..if you put some mods with the lightning, then you'r talking 11s on a quarter mile. I like harley don't get me wrong. To me, we are on the same family.....

 

ha! HEHE, um... I'm gonna have to take the L on this issue. Sorry man. Luxury, okay, I like the Harley. But performance, or the "ultimate" truck, I'm taking the L.

The L is more of an all out race truck, the harley is a little slower, less in performance for all areas (braking/cornering, etc etc).

The major plus for the H is the back seat, and whatever points whoever gives it (in they're opinion) for style.

The L is a better performer at the track, a little less on the aspect of doing actual work. My two gripes with a lightning are no 4wd and no backseat. However, thats the way the L should be for it's purpose. Instead, I'll just have to have a regular truck with lots of power

 

All of the "L'tng" points are valid, believe me i would have a L'tng as well if it wasnt for my girls...not that my harley is the choice ride for my family on our outing's, (stiff ride due to the lowering, the loud whine from the sup'rchger and intake, vomitting exhaust from the bassani and the hard shift'ng from the diablo tuner..and the 4.10 in the rear make the second gear chirp hard to avoid), but i need the 4 seats always as an option...so, my harley is punching 400+hp that can usually smoke most cars/truck out there...and yet fit my girls at the same time...,
got to love it!

 

is there a drooling icon/emoticon? we need one of those.... when I get done with the 79, I'm gonna stick a lightning badge on it.

 

The 99 Lighting 5.4L was Fords first L engine since the last 351 pushrod Windsor was made Nov 15, 96. The first Harley Davidson (2000) was fitted with the modular truck 2V 5.4L ovhc engine. After a couple of yrs Harley
owners wanted more HP for the Harley. Lighting owners on the other hand
paid for the right to claim "The Fastest Truck on the Plant".

So, Ford obligied buy supercharging 5.4's for Harley trucks, but with 50
or so less HP. As not to ****off the first 99-2000 Lightings owners & also
giving the HP the Harley Davidson name deserves.
