Why will most say to stay away from Fram? Is that just with the 6.0 diesels? Been using Fram on my cars/trucks since I can remember. Never heard anything negative about them. Havent had the opportunity to change the oil on my SD yet as I am only at 700 miles, but would be glad to know the reason I ought to steer clear of Fram. Thanks for your time and insight.

Fram Filters
The fram filters are very cheaply constructed. There is a spring holding the filter element in place and if that spring collapses or breaks, there is very little flow of oil. A friend of mine rebuilt a 455 Buick Stage 1 motor and used a fram oil filter. Ruined the motor on the cam break in because of a lack of oil flow. When he cut the filter apart, the spring was broken and there was very little oil in the filter. We did rule out the oil pump as the problem.
