My power windows seem to have stopped working. It started with all of them working off and on (either they all work, or they all don't work). Then I noticed that I could roll them up and down if I opened the door alittle, or if I wiggled the wires between the body and the door, with the door open.

Now they've all stopped permantenly.

I don't think it's the fuse, as my power seats still work. I replaced the master driver side window switch with no change. I also took off the wire guard around the wires from the body to the door, but did not see any broken / exposed wires.

Any ideas what could be wrong?

 

Sounds like a broken wire under the boot... look harder, they can hide pretty easily in that large bundle of wiring.

 

That's what I thought. Is there any trick to opening the black canister looking thing? I poked around at it, but couldnt' get it opened

 

Ive never had to mess with it, I always just needed to cut the tie strap around the boot and pull it down off the canister looking thing and found the broken wires past it and on into the vehicle body.
