Reside in the Martinsburg area and presently have a 95 SC, 2WD, Auto, with a 3.55 rear. Have had no problems but am getting the itch for a new one. I purchased the 3.55 because my trailer at that time was light enough for the truck to handle it and snce I was working most of my travels were to/from work empty. Two years ago I purchased a heavier trailer and the truck groans a bit when I'm pulling the hills on I-68 from I-70. Next summer intend to retire and head for the West Coast to visit wife's family. So naturally I've got an excuse to get a new truck. "You know dear it might be a little much for the truck to pull the Rockies. I'd hate to break down on the way."
Think I'll wait for the 05s to come out. My son is a Ford mechanic and says he doesn't see the late 04s like he did the 03s for warranty work. So hopefully they'll have the bugs worked out by the time I get ready. Of course with the interest rates rising I'll probably jump in September or October.
See where you had a get together. Hope I can make it next year.
Running the 7.3PSD. Except for one cam sensor haven't had a problem. Well I can't say that. At 1700 the fuel pump (not the high pressure pump) decided to quit. Still purring but only have 114,000 on it. Managed to miss all the new design problems. Hope my luck holds out when I make the jump for a new 6.0.
For fuel mileage reasons I would stay with the 3.55's.
I have a 7.3 IDI turbo with a 4 speed and 3.55's in my 86.
I drag 13 or 14 thousand pound trailers with it OK.
You can always drop a gear or two on the hills.
The hills on 68 are just as steep as anything you will find in the rockies, they are just not as long as they are in the rockies.

Outlawwv,
Ever heard of Mazzo's Excavating?
Be on the lookout for a black 86 F250 4x4 with a flatbed and twin stacks and twin yellow strobes on the headboard.
I also have stainless west coast mirrors.
If you see that, you may see me.

MARSPEC i noticed you said your son was a ford mechanic. My 03 f150 is having problems with the power windows, being slow and sluggish. I heard to the grapevine that it was a common problem. Just wondering if he has seen any of this. (any quick fixes or such) thanks man
