Been working on my 94 150 (swapping engines). Thought I'd better introduce myself after joining the chapter. Live here in the far N.W. part of the state.

Montpelier,approx 15 from Indiana & MIchigan. I may be looking for an assist myself pulling 4.9 to drop in 5.0 H.O. and transmision out for my 90 Mark 7. I work second shift so I was up late.
I understand. When I worked second, my "evenings" started at about midnight...
If you need help, I'm near Springfield (probably about 2-3 hours away) and could maybe do a sat/sun morning thing. Why are you replacing the 4.9? More horses? (and what are you going to do with the 4.9 when you're done?)
4.9 getting tired 234,000 on it also blew trans, alot more upgrades out there for 5.0 like S/Cs,heads and others. Yes second sucks but when ya work in a union shop ya go with the flow!!!! Trans in Lincoln has alot of possibilties, it's unique to the Mark 7. Lower first and second gears. A friend of mine is a stanger, he and I had fun 1 nite,needless to say he wuz impressed, both stockers. Lincoln pure stock, stang is '83 with '93 H.O. carbed.
Finally got donor engine out. Now I got to find a 351 wiring harness (reason for 5.8 instead of 5.0 is to keep right firing order) just hoping the psm will work with it. I'll probably get the 5.8 psm with the harness.
