Question 1995 F150 4X4 5.0 performance

Hi, I'm also a new member. What I have is a 1995 F150LXT 4X4 5.0 Auto/Overdrive. I've added a single to dual exhaust system/K&N induction filter/Hyperchip and I plan to add headers. What my question is what kind of performance improvements can I make with a non programmable computer and make improvement without upsetting the programming.

you can make your own ram air, there was a thread on this site a few months back that somebody made themselves. you could also get 24# injectors but then you need to reprogram the MAF sensor or get an aftermarket one. port the upper intake also.

A fairly easy upgrade would be to elimanate your factory fan/clutch setup and replace it with an electric cooling fan. This will free up around 12-15 rear wheel HP.

Welcome to FTE!!

This what I gather from my fellow ford fans, Is
1. 73MM mass air flow sensor ($199.95)
2.#24 fuel injectors ($229.95)
3. Replace the factory fan with a electric fan. (?)
4. Y headers ($299.99)
5.Performer Mainifold ($529.00)

you have to get the new MAF sensor or have your stock one reprogrammed if you put bigger injectors in. so remember you would have to buy those together

I've got dual electric fans with independent turn on temperature controllers and they are great. I would recommend them to anyone who wants to free up a bit of power, have colder A/C and a more quiet running engine. They make a difference you can feel. I like the header idea too, I'm running Ford Racing shorties on my truck and they help out alot if you've had exhaust work done.

Fans and headers will make a noticable difference in power and can be done reasonably if you buy the fans from a salvage yard and get the Hayden controllers from Autozone. Just don't skimp on headers or the gaskets, you get what you pay for most of the time. I used some cheap gaskets the first time and they blew out within a few months so I had to pull the headers off and replace the gaskets
