Dyno Day!

Project Fordy went on the dyno today.

Started out with 207 RWHP, we got it up to 235RWHP and 276 ft/lbs.

Broke the distributor gear because apparently a steel one was on there when a bronze one should have been. Not really my fault being the newbie and all. I just got the distributor from the engine builder and it had a gear on it, so I just put it in not knowing about using proper gears or not. Live and learn, for next time.

Very respectible, Joners! Always nice to know what you're packin' under the hood, huh? I'm kind of suprised that the hp isn't more, with the 351W and all, but no doubt it'll getcha from A-to-B quite nicely!

Thanks for sharing the dyno info...

I thought it would have been a little higher myself....

the cam is a 302 cam, I thought it was a 351W cam...go figure.

The guy who dyno'd it said I should find it pickup some power after 300 miles or so, once it's broken in a bit more.

Is it a totally stock 351W? Or have you made modifications? Cam and heads are where you're gonna get hp from if you're interested in upping those numbers. You can also stroke the 351W out to a 383, bringing a LOT more muscle with it.

It has a bit of work done to it, not much...

These are Mustang Dyno numbers too, so they are a little lower than Dynojet numbers. I'm going to ask them to do a couple runs with Dynojet parameters.

Also, this is only on 8.6:1 compression.

Next step will be a blower if anything, just going to have to save the pennies.
