Here is my restored '81 F-100 painted in Viper red. 300-6 three speed. Truck was originally light blue with a dark blue plain jane interior, three on the tree. Dealer installed AC. I still need too add a couple of interior trim pieces (lazy). Just got my refurbished wheels on it not too long ago.
The roll bar was actually just sitting in it basically. It had feet on the floor with holes to bolt it on and it was a couple inches above the bed rails so you shouldn't have to worry about rubbing. It's hard to see in the pic but it's actually just tied to those eyelets on the bed rails. If this truck were a 4x4 I'd have been tempted to keep it

Deleted some of your pics in the quote to save space. A few details I really like on yours: Great color blue... nice to see the tan interior... looks great with those classic red line wheels! I lived right next to a Ford dealership in high school in the 80s and that's exactly how they looked in the lot. I'm tempted to look for a set.
Keep up the great work!

I have slowly been getting back to where I can do a project like these. I had a 83 Flareside with a 3-speed w/overdrive stick and a 4.9 with all the trimming. I wish I had that truck today. I told the wife that after we do the addition on the house, I will be getting another Flareside to make a project. I went thru the whole thread and it made me realize that we need to do more to keep these beauties alive. All beautiful trucks from what I have seen. Nice work everyone.

There isn't a template that I was able to find, but I did mark the old pieces as they came out. One idea for you:
The plywood will have to be in two pieces anyway, because the bed is more than 48" wide. The wood adds up to about 56" wide overall. In fact my parts truck had four 1x8s and four 1x6s at factory width for a bed.
1.) If you cut two pieces at 12" wide each, You can put those two pieces on the sides with the fenders cut out AND they will incorporate the bed mounting bolt locations.
2.) The center is then one piece about 32"wide.
You can leave the center out, and mount the two side pieces first and have easier access to where the bed to frame bolts go since you can see down through the center area.
Hope that helps - here's a pic with the center section out
