How to ID Camper Special??

I have a 1975 F-250 Super cab. I wanted to add sway bars. I've read on FTE that the Camper Special models had larger diameter sway bars and that's what I'd like to look for in the salvage yard. How do you Identify a Camper Special? Are there emblems? What years would work? Did these come with Front and rear sway bars or only front?--Thanks

If you do a search in this forum, you will find all the info on them. Yes, the CS came with front and rear sway bars as part of the package. They also got red CS badges as part of the package too.

Howdy,
You should be able to tell by the side. Camper Specials have the tool box on the side and the Super Campers have a spare tire on the side of the bed behind a large removeable panel.
Hope it helps,
Chris

The side tool box isnt just on CS's. I have one on my Trailer Special(TS). I would think that the "camper wire harness" attached to the frame just under the box would be a dead give-away.Yes,they do have "Camper Special" emblems,if they haven't been knabbed first.I believe most CS's came with front and rear bars. Also check the data sticker on the door jam.Werent most F250 CS's 8100 pound GVW's?

The tool box is a stand alone option. It has nothing to do with the CS or any other option. The side of the box tire carrier is a sign of the SCS though.

Thanks for the info. I did actually do a search for over an hour. My first query returned 23 pages of subjects and the second over 40 pages. I agree that it's a good idea to search FTe first as it's definitely here-this place is awesome. BUT it's kind of like asking 1 question and being dropped in the middle of a university campus to find your answer. Not trying to stir up anything it's just nice to get the answer fast from someone who knows. I really do appreciate the help.
