Question Upper brake light wiring on after dealer cap

Hi, I have a F250, had a cap put on the bed. When we got to the states I was required to add a third light (top) to the cap. Installed a bar type light and wired it into the right tail light. Light works fine when I step on the brake, but failed inspection because it also blinks when I put on my right blinker. What did I do wrong?

The wire you want to tap into is located just in front of the hitch wiring. It is a short stub comming out of the harness, I think it was taged as "Brake" This is brake only, not running or turn. Good luck
