It's funny when those poor souls (chevy fans) go off about how chevy rules. and those stupid ford abreviations that I hear. I was raised on a ranch and never saw an old chevy work pickup that could take the abuse of real work.
Fact: Chevy parts are cheap. Why? They break.
Nuff said. Ford forever! Tattoo and all!

I always did like the water pump and timing housings on chevy engines, they're much simpler.
But take note what rear-end most chevy owners use if they have the choice - a FORD NINE INCH!
FORD parts also cost a little extra, but go racing and see what everything costs.
I think FORD has it when it comes to suspension and frame, even though I'm not an especially biased mech.

Well, I can relate another profession to that. Microsoft = Job Security. As long as they are around with their ever-faulty operating systems and software there is always a job for me! Perhaps Microsoft and Chevrolet have some sort of secret partnership??

I found this someplace, dont remember where. It isnt mine.
The ford prayer
"And on the seventh day the lord did drive his F-250, and it came to pass that he poppethed thine hood to gaze upon the 460 he hadth created, and he saw that it was good. And the serpent was upon the motor, for there were 8 venturis, and this too was good.
So the Lord closethed thine hood and did drive from the garden of Dearborn, until he came to the house of Chevrolet where Satan was complaineth that his cam had walkethed through thine tin can timing cover. And the Lord didst ask "Why art thou persisting with that crap? Turn thee to the light, and see that it is blue". And satan grunted, for his waterpump-on-a-stick didst fall upon him, and he was of foul humour.
Seeing this, the Lord didst spin his tires all the way into 3rd, and lo Satan was enshrouded in a curious blue mist that not being of oil, didst confuse him, and he was unable to see the light.
And so it came to pass that satan remained loyal to the house of Chevrolet".
Amen.

I try not to verbalize my feeling while at the wreckers but,This is my "going to the wreckers T-Shirt"

I once had the Volvo towed home from having a rusted out strut.
The conversation was immediate about vehicles and their longevity.
The driver & I talked about the Chev/Ford /Mopar issue.
His response was that he only tows mainly newer Fords for
un-necessary reasons(usually dresses or suits that don't get their hands dirty). They have an AMA membership.
He said sees very few Old fords being towed,His comment was" I think they limp home or to a repair shop instead"
He said,he tows more GM products for major reasons:wheels falling off, transmissions blowing,& other drivetrain problems.
Then he said about Mopar> Mini-Vans Tons and tons of Mini-Vans.
