Headlight swaps

Hi all-
I am new to this forum (seems like a great site!). I own a 2000 F350 that I am looking to install the newer (03+?) clear headlights. I would rather stay OEM as opposed to aftermarket for the fitment issues I have read about. Will the newer headlight assemblies swap with mine with no mods? I used the search feature, but was unable to find pertinent info. Thanks for any help.

Are you talking about the bulbs themselves, the headlamp assemblies, or an HID kit? Headlamps and bulbs swap out with (usually) minimal effort.

Thank you for the reply. I am looking to swap out the entire headlamp assembly for the newer, clear style.

you can also search eBay for headlights, and I think procarparts.com even has an eBay store...

What did you end up doing with your headlite swap. Did you buy them from Ford, aftermarket, Ebay? Any difficulties on the install? What did you spend?, if you don't mind me asking.

Thanks

I believe they are direct replacements. The corners are clear and the lens are "jewel" that is the only difference. So they should just be a swap. And the aftermarket lamps are crap. At least the ones from APC. My dad got some for his 03' f-150 and they didnt fit at all.

Thumbs up

I just replaced mine on my 1999 F250 SD SC and they fit perfectly. I got them off ebay and they look BETTER than OEM. Great quality too!

They are aftermarkets, but great quality and absolute perfect fit. With Sylvaina Silverstars, they are very bright and very white. I will post a pic in my gallery.

Thanks for the reply. They look nice. This seller has more of these lights, but at a higher price. It's still worth it though.

They don't have them for the F350's yet but ABM motorsports is coming out with the one piece headlights for the F250's. They already have them out for the F150's. I have a set on my truck. I am actually one of their test trucks. The lights fit perfectly. They fill the surround space better and look much better.

Check my gallery, there should be before & after pics of my 00 Excursion with this headlight capsule swap your speaking of completed. Yes they fit right in, and I used SliverStar lamps.
