Fender Flares

I have a 03 Ranger FX4 Level II which comes with the black wheel flares. I want painted ones, like the Edge has. My question is two fold....

1. Does anyone know of a aftermarket flare that is the same as factory in terms of looks are how it attached to the truck?

2. How difficult is it to remove the current flares?

Thanks!

I don't know the answer to you question from personal experience but Bushwacker lists an OEM style flare for your truck. Usually, they attach with clips and/or screws into the rolled edge of the fender opening. I'd be very interested in buying your old black flares should you decide to swap. Another option is to paint your stock flares. Use "Adhesion Promoter" primer and then color coat according to your paint code.

The flairs are easy to remove, they are only held on by the "push pins" that you see along the bottom contour. Go to an auto parts store and get a pin puller and remove them. Look up your paint code, take them to a body shop to be painted, buy new pins and put them back on. This will be much cheaper than buying new painted ones!

The flares on the truck have a texture, so not really paintable. I will check out Bushwacker and will let you know if I buy and need to sell my old ones.

The "texture" is small, they can paint out smooth.
